パラカロ

ギリシアに住んでいるマリアに電話を掛けると、「パラカロ！」って明るく返ってきます。日本語にはない、コロコロした音が印象的。英語の「please」にあたる、とても丁寧な言葉だと教えてくれました。

Concerning “ParaCalo”, the exact meaning of the word is “please” and many times is the answer of a “thanks” with the meaning of “be welcome”. We also use ParaCalo ! when we receive a call.
For sure ParaCalo is very polite and no there is never bad meaning in it.
